Getting a Master’s Degree changed her career
Wafaa Ramzy Boutros
Wafaa Boutros decided to pursue her Masters of Arts in Secondary Education after many years of
splitting her professional time between teaching and working as a pharmacist in Egypt. She completed her degree in June 2012, graduating with highest distinction from the American Graduate School of Education at Acacia University.
Wafaa Boutros was born in Cairo and graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Cairo University. For the first 14 years of her professional life, she worked both as a teacher as well as a pharmacist. She then decided to devote herself to teaching because she realized that it was her true passion.
Amidst challenges and precarious political times in her country, Wafaa continued to teach high school Chemistry, head the Science Department, and complete her coursework with a 4.0 GPA average. Due to her stellar performance in her coursework and peer mentorship Wafaa was invited back to join the AGSE Learning Coach team after receiving her degree.
“The courses have guided me to alter my techniques and develop my teaching skills. I implement the strategies and develop plans that engage students in the learning process; I have witnessed dramatic progress in students’ personal and academic levels.”
