Her course helped her achieve her goal of starting a new career
After being a hair stylist for 35 years, Kathleen Deutz decided to make a career change. She enrolled in the Healthcare Documentation Specialist course with At-Home Professions knowing that the medical field was growing and that there was a demand for medical coders and billers in the healthcare industry.
While juggling full-time employment, Kathleen earned her Healthcare Documentation Specialist certificate within a year. She received the Delta Epsilon Tau Honor Society Award for her dedication and hard work throughout the course. Shortly after graduation, Kathleen accomplished her goal of starting a new profession by accepting a position as Billing Specialist with a local healthcare facility. Since being hired, Kathleen has gained valuable on-the-job experience and hopes to take on additional responsibilities doing coding and transcription for her employer in the near future.
Kathleen is a proud mother of two grown children and a grandson. She looks forward to celebrating the coming of her second grandchild this year and continuing to succeed in her career as a Healthcare Documentation Specialist.
