US Navy Veteran turned VP with a heart for mentorship
Tem Frierson graduated from Columbia Southern University with an associate's degree in 2007, Bachelors of Business Administration degree in 2009, and Masters of Business Administration degree in 2015. He finished Magna Cum Laude and is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Tem Frierson served in the United States Navy for 24 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer and he currently serves as the vice president of Veteran Business Solutions for First Data Corporation. He places a great emphasis on the power of mentorship, as he learned from valuable mentor relationships and now looks to serve others in this capacity. Frierson is married and has four children and three grandchildren. He believes serving as a mentor to his grandchildren and being a person they can look up to will be his biggest mark of success.
Frierson enjoys working in the financial services community and looks to prove value at higher levels. He says his education allowed his imagination to see a greater perspective and how commerce builds and strengthens communities. He hopes to engage and design solutions to empower veteran small business owners and increase the impact on the small business community.
"Procrastination previously led to the belief that higher education was impractical and unattainable. At 40 years old, it became easy to justify not completing the journey, but I am thankful that CSU did not reciprocate that sentiment and gave me the means and support to achieve my goals."
