A challenging, uplifting education helped land the job of her dreams

Jennifer Vincent, a mother of six and a Catholic School teacher, hungered to deepen her knowledge of the Catholic Faith by pursuing a Master's of Theology degree within her home. Jennifer completed Catholic Distance University's online MA degree program and became a Pastoral Associate.

Before graduating from CDU with a 3.92 GPA, Jennifer was already actively engaged in the Retrouvaille ministry of her parish. Immediately upon earning her degree, Jennifer was selected to be the Pastoral Associate for the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory, where she is now in charge of multiple ministries. She uses her manifold talents to discern and develop ministries and programs that respond to the needs of parishioners of all ages. These programs include the Young Mothers of Grace Project, the Women's Faith Sharing Group, the Retreat for Marriage Enrichment, the Adult Confirmation Course, and the Youth Ministry Famine Activity. As a mother, teacher, and now parish leader, Jennifer often is asked to give sacramental presentations to parents in other parishes. Her skills and experience also enrich the parish Liturgy and Bereavement Committees.

Furthermore, Jennifer regularly serves as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and a Lector. Jennifer recognizes her MA in Theology has opened doors and opportunities beyond anything she dreamed possible just five years ago. She credits CDU for providing not only an outstanding, completely online program, but also a community of learners that supports even the less technologically savvy students!

"While the school is challenging, it was also so supportive and uplifting that I always felt encouraged to keep studying and pursuing my dream of getting a Master's degree in Theology."
