In 2016, Daniel Hughes earned his Bachelor of Science in occupational safety and health from Columbia Southern University. He is currently working on his M.S. in occupational safety and health from CSU and is studying to become a Certified Safety Professional® via the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.

With more than 35 years of experience managing, implementing and enforcing safety programs for a wide range of organizations, Daniel Hughes is no stranger to safety and emergency management. Hughes has had extensive experience preparing and managing safety programs, responding to emergency response actions in contingency environments as a front line responder, team leader and command post technical expert. Hughes has worked alongside many regulating organizations including the Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, Environmental Protection Agency, OSHA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Hughes currently works for Parsons, a technology-driven engineering services firm. Hughes began his career at Parsons in 2001 as a safety manager before advancing into his current role as division safety manager. A dedicated humanitarian, Hughes was one of 11 Parsons employees selected for a bridge-building project in Rio Grande, Panama in 2017.
