Distance education kickstarted her career
Lacey Klem was a busy college student studying exercise science at Eastern Oregon University when she became interested in massage therapy. Lacey knew that an online program would work best around her other classes, and that's when she discovered the Massage Therapy certificate course at U.S. Career Institute.
Lacey excelled during the hands-on training portion of the program in Fort Collins, Colorado. Lacey was quick to assist other students in the classroom, and she worked tirelessly to master the techniques required to be a strong and competent massage therapist. Her ability to palpate musculature and work with challenging areas was exceptional. Lacey graduated with a 91% GPA and went on to pass the MBLEx after graduation. She was hired by a chiropractic clinic shortly thereafter.
Since graduation, Lacey has been working hard on her Exercise Science B.S. with a minor in Business at Eastern Oregon University while working as a massage therapist at a chiropractic clinic. As a certified fitness instructor, Lacey coaches a local swimming club and teaches yoga and fitness classes at the YMCA. Lacey is passionate about learning and her work ethic is second to none – she has maintained an impressive 3.5 GPA at Eastern Oregon University while juggling her three jobs. Lacey feels that massage is a great start to her career in fitness, wellness, and healing. After her graduation from Eastern Oregon University, she would like to specialize in sports medicine and injury prevention while incorporating traditional healing works such as Shiatzu and Reiki.
