Accredited High School
The Distance Education Accrediting Commission accredits online high schools and high school diploma programs designed to provide students with an accredited high school diploma and prepare students for entrance into the workplace.
Many of DEAC-accredited high schools offer career-credentialed certificate programs for several in-demand careers, such as Healthcare, Early Childhood Education, Transportation Services, Criminal Justice, Office Management, and Homeland Security. Students may graduate with both a high school diploma and coursework toward earning a career-credentialed certificate in one of these areas. In addition, many schools offer customized online high school programs to provide students with an opportunity to learn at their own pace, as they manage their day-to-day lives.
Many of DEAC-accredited postsecondary institutions offer online high school diploma programs.
DEAC-accredited high schools must comply with the standards, policies and procedures set forth in the DEAC Accreditation Handbook. DEAC’s Policy on High School Programs can be found in Section C.30 of the DEAC Accreditation Handbook.
